Therapy

As a counselor, I understand that every individual has unique needs that require a personalized approach to therapy. At my practice, I offer customized care that is tailored to meet your specific requirements. I utilize a diverse range of modalities, rooted in and informed by Internal Family Systems. These might include creative interventions, mindfulness, dream work and active imagination, Tarot, Transpersonal therapy, psychodynamic counseling, Ecotherapy, and Clinical Hypnotherapy to support your journey toward healing and personal growth.

I am “in-network” with many major insurance carriers, and I'm happy to work with your insurance to cover the cost of treatment. However, it's important to note that in order for services to be considered medically necessary, a mental health diagnosis must be submitted to your insurance provider. This could potentially impact your ability to obtain life or health insurance in the future or limit your options for occupations that require a high-level security clearance. Additionally, some treatment modalities may not be covered by insurance. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about using medical insurance for counseling. My goal is to provide you with the support and resources you need to thrive.

Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.

Internal Family Systems

Have you ever caught yourself saying, "Part of me is psyched about this upcoming move, but another part is seriously terrified and just wants to stay with what I know,' or 'My relationship is great so I don't understand why I feel trapped sometimes"?  If so, you're not alone. But have you ever dug into who these parts are and why they can't seem to agree, stirring up all that inner chaos? And why, sometimes, does something, that feels like ancient history still hold so much sway over your emotions today? Are you ready for a new paradigm in the way we approach healing together? Walk with me as we get to know and come to truly appreciate your unique internal family.

In the sacred space of your psyche, a therapeutic journey unfolds, as you're gently guided through an intricate dance of healing with a gentle, holistic touch. Especially tailored for those navigating the labyrinth of trauma and painful pasts, IFS provides a compassionate, non-pathologizing approach. Life's twists and turns may have left you feeling trapped, overwhelmed, or like a solitary tree in the storm, AND transformation is possible!

Here, within the leadership of your highest, wisest Self, we extend a warm invitation to every facet of your being. Learn more about Your Inner Critic, who may be trying to help you avoid the painful judgement of others, your Super Worrier, who SO desperately wants to keep you safe, your Social Media Doom-Scroller, who just wants to help you avoid replaying that fight you just had, or your Guard Dog at the Gate, who isn't going to let anyone hurt that Scared Little One, ever again... all integral, each bearing a sacred purpose in the tapestry of your life. Together, we delve into the stories these parts carry, unveiling and unburdening the hidden wounds that tether you to the past.  Envision your true Self, using the natural gifts of curiosity, open-heartedness, compassion, and clarity, guiding these parts towards harmony, rooted grounding, and Self-led growth.

Are you ready for a journey where you not only find the healing power of Self but embrace every part of you (seriously warts and all)? Kind of gives a new meaning to the idea of Self-love, right?

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with training through the National Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Institute for Advanced Counselor Training under the direction of Rick Boyes, Ph.D., LCPC, CCHT.

Hypnotherapy is a natural state of mind that you've likely experienced before, such as driving on autopilot, getting lost in a book, or daydreaming. As a hypnotherapist, I use hypnosis to help you achieve your goals, whether that's reducing anxiety, managing pain, improving relationships, or connecting with your intuition and higher self.

Some people worry that they can't be hypnotized or will lose control, but rest assured that hypnosis is a safe and gentle process. You will hear and remember everything that happens, and you are always in control. Hypnosis can't make you do anything you wouldn't want to do, and I only use suggestions that are in line with your goals.

During hypnosis, you may feel peaceful, relaxed, and dreamlike, or you may experience sensations like floating or rocking. Every person's experience is unique.

Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, pain, phobias, performance anxiety, and more. If you're curious about whether hypnotherapy is right for you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
